This book is expensive, but there are other options, one I wish I knew about. Checkout the publishers website cengage brain. Yes you can download the tools from the Palisade website. It's still a pain in the butt.We both know if you are reading this you are in a course looking for the best deal, keep looking.After getting it, I think digital is the wrong way to go with it. If you are going to use it a a reference, hardcover. If you want to just pass the course, rent it.All in all the steps remind me a great deal of process improvement, same logical processes.Update, as the class progresses, I am considering purchasing the hard cover edition too. The kindle is just not cutting it.

Update on the review 5/23/2012After two cycles with Cengage support, we finally got excellent support from Jeanette. She provided explicit instructions that allowed me to download an updated version of the software (@RISK 5.7) that worked in my environment (Win7, Excel 2010). We did have to do one final additional step (move the license file to "Palisade / System" directory) that was not in her instructions. We provided her feedback to add this step and thanked her for her support. We are having issues with teh SQL Server add-on optional feature, but this is a Microsoft issue and definitely not Cengage. Updating the review rating to 4 stars--------------------------------------Original reviewOrdered new ISBN-13: 978-0-495-01508-6 that arrived new with the companion student software in separate CD case that is labeled ISBN-13: 978-0-534-40919-7 for my husband's class. Book and CD appeared to be new. He tried installing the software. No access code is readily obvious in either the book or the companion CD. Palisade points to Cengage. Cengage has replied to a request for support telling me to "look in the book for the access code". Provided them the ISBN of the book and CD and asked explicitly where the "access code" can be found. Waiting for an answer. It is unclear to us whether the book is really not new and the access card has been removed or whether the support from the Cengage is not helpful.---------------------I would recommend buying this book and hopefully Cengage will provide the excellent feedback that I got from Jeanette on other's first contact with the support desk.

This is a fairly standard decision analysis textbook. My biggest frustration is that it is written in a very non-technical manner, as if for students that are afraid of math. It would be a great book for teaching DA in a business curriculum. It's less desirable for an engineering department, where I teach.

It's an OK book. A bit too wordy BUT examples are clear enough that you can understand the material and they walk you through how to use the software step by step. Definitely a good book to have as reference for decision making.

Book came as advertised. No issues. I dropped the class and returned it. The return process was very simple and quick.

I'm really happy with this book. The Amazon writeup said that it had a lot of practical examples and they were right. But it also had a terrific teaching style and a good strategy for organizing thinking to make the most of info that one has. I have already had two opportunities to put the strategy to the test and was astounded how well it worked. This is a definite keeper for me and I highly recommend it.

This book is a great complement to a class, but more importantly this book really could stand alone without an instructor guiding you along. The examples and step break-down allow students to practice the methology without having to rely on any other resources.Many books require the use of other resources or a course. This did not.

This book was great for learning how to properly analyze decisions and get a decent background in Engineering Economics.The software that came with the book did not work so I downloaded a 2 week trial from the website.Update the software package included with the book and this will be a much better learning tool.

Well I am taking off 1 star because for the cost of this book, there needed to be some sort of conclusion. Like I feel like we deserve to know who V is and then have all other ends tied up in the next one. That being said, I’m totally invested in finishing this series and have downloaded the next and final part of this series. I feel like I know who V is but I really just want to know for sure and I’m frustrated. Even frustration did not stop me from staying up all night and finishing this immediately after finishing the first part. I’m rooting for these characters and hope they all make it to the end. So onto the finale!

I am really enjoying this series but having a hard time with Sadie/Summer being so blind to certain things and also not keeping her legs shut. I hate to sound vulgar but really? It's too much. Also, the cliffhangers are annoying. Aside from those few "issues," I am enjoying these books and will buy the 3rd to see the conclusion. However, I will likely not read anything else by this author.

I received an advanced copy for an honest review.This is the second book in the Made of Steel series. I picked up where the first ended and it didn't disappoint. I could hardly put it down (even for work!) because I kept wanting to know what would happen next.When you think you've figured out who to trust and who you must avoid, bam! plot twist and everything you thought you knew is blown apart! As Summer figures out who she can trust and who she needs to avoid, she realizes that her life as she knew it may have been a facade.My only bad "review" is that we have to wait until 2018 for book 3. I guess that is the "downfall" of Ivy's upcoming wedding 😉

I will tell you that you do discover somethings but you are still in the dark on who V is by the end of this book . Summer/Sadie really comes into herself in this book . I love her character, she truly is made of steel. You learn more about Eli , Miles and even more about V. I can not say enough good things about this book. The author of this series has a way of bringing you into a story like no other author I have read . I laughed , I cried and I even gasped a few times. Also she sure knows how to do an amazing cliffhanger.I HIghly recommend this story

Wow! This was so deep and it seems Summer/Sadie was indeed forged in flames 🔥. Summer has now discovered Eli's true identity but is just so upset that he's known her for two years but didn't realize she was being abused. With the help of V, Eli and Eliza she is putting all the pieces together and the more information that is revealed the more she realizes she's on borrowed time. This has even gotten more complicated by the fact that she loves V and Eli but Miles is the one that she truly wants to be. Can she have her happy ending without pulling everyone she cares about into the flames with her.This was outstanding and I'm honored to have received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The thing I loved most about this series was that it kept me reading. I never wanted to put it down and I needed to know what was going to happen. The one downside to this book was that there was a little too much push a pull between the h and the multiple H's. I didn't feel that she was particularly leaning toward any one character, which is what I prefer when reading something like this. It kind of felt like she really had no clue who she was or what she wanted, which I suppose was true. Again, the book was well written and left me wanting more.

This book is off the charts! If you liked the Hunger Games and Divergent, well here is your new Kick Ads Heroine to love. And you have a masked super hero who I hope is who I think he is, hint hint Ivy, and some side kicks of Liz's and Eli. You have and Underworld Don who is playing with everyone's lives and just when you think something was true, you find out if was all a lie. Don can change facts and manipulate people and the foursome have a lot to overcome. I will have a hard time waiting until 2018 for the next installment in this series!

I can't say enough about this book and series! I love these characters and this story! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time!! I couldn't put the book down! I'm a person that tends to skim through stuff to get to the good part, especially with an intense and exciting read. But honestly, I read every single word! There was no urge to skip through any of this because it was ALL so important and gripping! Keep reading folks, it only gets better!
